Phinca Hapa Blanco

American Melanie Hickman relocated from the States to the village of Elvillar in Rioja, Spain and Phinca Hapa is a vineyard she bought and renamed after her beloved dog. This ‘orange’ wine is a blend of Viura with some Garnach Blanca and Malvasia Riojana. The destemmed grapes fermented with skins in a 2,000-liter concrete vat for two months, and the wine spent one year in 600-liter French foudres. The resulting wine is delightfully textural with an amber colour and a characterful nose mixing notes of balsam, quince, peach and honey.
